y do they shake - 2008/01/28 12:46 i have had a tank with 2 clowns knifes,oscar and iredecsent shark for about a yr .but i had been wanting the african chichlids so i finally got some.i have no clue what there sex is or how to tell.and i have noticed 1 out of the 5 that i got shakes alot shorta looks like he is having seizures or somthing.is he/she sick or do they all do that?

Re:y do they shake - 2008/01/30 03:45 If he's shaking a lot, it's probably in front of another african cichlid, right? This is his mating dance. You'll probably have some babies in there soon, hopefully they have rocks to hide in!

Your cichlids must be a good size to survive with the other fish!

I dont think there is anything wrong with your cichlid. It is probably a male and doing very as it is either staking its territoy of courting a female to breed.
