(1) Bala Shark - 2008/02/15 09:01 Can I keep one Bala Shark in my cichlid tank (55 gallon)? I have 8 of the smaller cichlids (4-5") and two Medium Plecos. Thanks.

I understand just keeping the cichlids in there, but also want to make sure my Bala is comfortable as well. I have him in a 30 gallon mixed tropical with Gold Barbs, Tiger Barbs, Gourami's and Chinese Algae Eaters. I know he'll get bigger, just want to make sure he can grow and thrive. But, no concerns with the cichlids freakin out or anything?

Re:(1) Bala Shark - 2008/02/15 12:02 He is not aggressive at all, but I do not know all the correct names for the cichlids. I know this: (2) are yellow with vertical stripes, (2) are yellow with horizontal stripes, (2) are blueish, with one a little lighter and some black vertical striping, and the last two are a light white/reddish color with some red spots all over and a few bluish spots. I can send pictures, but i do know the ones I chose (cichlids) get no bigger than 4-4.5"

Re:(1) Bala Shark - 2008/02/15 12:13 If he's not aggressive at all, he should be OK. Just watch that he doesn't end up getting beaten up by the cichlids once they're not scared of him!
