How Do I Write an Article? |

You do not need to be a professional writer to have an article published here, you just been to be an experienced hobbyist with a fish tank. As soon as you are registered you can begin submitting articles about your fish, aquarium, filter, or any other equipment!
Here are the steps involved in having an article published, and making money: - Register as a user. You can do this with the link at the top right of any page
- Once you have your username, contact us, and we'll assign you author permissions. If you supply your Adsense ID, we can add it to your account, and any published articles you write will immediately begin receiving impression for your account.
- If you do not yet have an Adsense, sign up for one! Send it to us when you get it. You can also send us a channel id if you'd like.
- Browse the current articles, and pick a cichlid species or another topic (DIY guide, etc) that has not yet been written about. Write about it, following our basic article criteria.
- All articles submitted will be reviewed for accuracy of information, spelling, and grammar before they're published.
- Submit the photos to go with your article. You can submit any number of photos. You can upload photos by clicking the link on the left (when you're logged in).
Article CriteriaAll articles about cichlids will be required to have the following information: - Scientific name
- Common name(s)
- At least one photo, to be uploaded in the photo section
- Region
- Size (optional: male and female size)
- Color (optional: male and female color)
- Water chemistry
- Water temperature
- Agression level
- Anecdotal information. This can be anything, and as long or short as you'd like. Feel free to write down your experience keeping this fish, why you did or didn't like them, how they ate your neon tetras... whatever you can share that will help other cichlid keepers maintain a healthy aquarium with that fish.
- Optional: special dietary needs
- Optional: breeding info (we plan to give additional ad impressions to articles with breeding information)
- Optional: fish that they can't be kept with or fish that they do really well with (a.k.a. compatibility)
