Scientific name: Neolamprologus leleupi Common name: Yellow leleupi Region: Lake Tanganyika Size: 4-5 inches Color: Yellow (sometimes pale) with some irridescent blue/green coloration near the mouth/gills Water Chemistry: pH: 8.6, hardness: very hard Temperature: 77-79 Aggression: agressive Compatibility: Best kept with fellow Tanganyikans, they do well with Julies Diet: Carnivorous Breeding: Spawning can take place in rocks, inverted flower pots (that's where I've had the most success), or even large shells in the aquarium. They may even kill other shell dwellers to find an acceptable spawning location. Spawning begins by the female leading the male to her cave. She then attaches her eggs on the sides of the cave, and the male swims over them, depositing his sperm. You can expect around 100 fry.
