(0 posts) Scientific name: Julidochromis marlieri Common name: Julie Region: Lake Tanganyika Size: 4-5 inches Color: White with black spots/stripes Water Chemistry: pH: 8.6, hardness: very hard Temperature: 77-79 Aggression: agressive Compatibility: Best kept with fellow Tanganyikans Diet: Omnivorous How to breed: Julies are unique in that they will mate for life. Once they've paired off, leave teh decor (territories) in the tank in tact. About 50 eggs will be laid at a time. General: This is a very cool - and yes, cute - fish to keep in the aquarium. Although they are somewhat shy, they tend to be quite aggressive towards tankmates. You should provide quite a bit of rockwork for these fish to establish territories.
