I don't know what I did???? - 2008/02/01 17:43
Ok. SO I got 4 fish from Pets Mart 3 jewels and an eletric blue one. They looked good One had a small fin damage but nothing major. My tank had been cycling for a month with baby molly fish that my filter was to strong for and eventually sucked up. Long story short after about 3 days they turned brown all of them so so so brown you couldnt tell what the heck color they were their eyes bulged out and clouded over so they couldnt even see. they just layed around on the bottom of the tank or ontop of tank ornaments. so I put mela fix, copper stuff a medication that starts with maracyn or something and then the same one with that number II Then quick cure and salt as well as feed them some garlic.... because the only thing they were still doing was eating. Oh did I mention all their fins were fraying. I also took all the rocks out of the bottom only left hiding space caves and decorations.. Boosted the heat to 82 left the lights off all the time and repeated the medication for 2x the amount reccomended. and by the second cycle of medication they stoped swimming with a tilt and look 100% better. I also used nitra ban 2x just in case. When I told the pet people they said something about over doing it. ..... and inbetween I put the filters back in and changed out 25% of their water.... They look SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good now...... but Im not sure what cured them...... Any opinions
