Newbie could use some help - 2007/12/07 15:58 Hi I'm rather new to Cichlids and purcshed my first 4 last week I bought three of them that the store was calling purple zebras and one that was in the same tank but he wasnt sure what it was, Now after looking around for abit i cant seem to find any info so i was curious if someone could be kind enough to help me and tell me what they really are.

The First two pictures are actually of the same fish. sorry about the img quality i'm not very good with a camera and the lil buggers dont stay still

Yes, it looks like a zebra-variant, but the colors aren't very striking, so it's hard to tell which. Could be a red-top zebra: http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=1911
