I thought male convicts grew larger and faster than the females. I got four fish that all came from the same batch. 2 pink convicts and 2 stripped. I thought that the one stripped was a male by the way it behaved in the tank and by how quickly it grew. It's twice to three times bigger than the other fish. I then quickly figured out that it was female when her belly turned kinda orange. Yesterday they decided to lay eggs. They are only about 3 months old. Why would that female grow so big so fast? I attached a few pics. [file]
