cross breeding - 2007/04/20 11:34 i had a convict and a pink african breed. i have 14 babies. 8 convicts that have blue, yellow, green and peach on the males and purple on the females, and i have 6 pinks. i was told that they would be sterile but i have 2 batches of fry and 2 batches of eggs one of which is a convict and pink cross. ive never had my fish cross breed. the babies are about 10 months old. any info would be aprreciated. thank you

Re:cross breeding - 2007/04/23 05:46 thank you, that did anwser one of my questions, i was wondering if i could sell them. They have bred, i have 2 batches of fry and 2 batches of eggs. Is there a reason why I wouldnt want them to breed? the fish are really colorful, 7 different colors on the males. they are also very aggressive, ive had to move all the pairs into separate tanks and theyre only about an inch long.

Re:cross breeding - 2007/04/23 05:49 The only reason that I say you probably can't sell them, is that very few people will knowingly buy a cross breed fish. However, if you're upfront about that, and maybe post some photos of their nice colors, then someone may by them just to have a beautiful fish in the aquarium.

Why not post a for sale ad in the buy/sell/trade section on the website? It's free, and you can see how much interest it generates...

Re:cross breeding - 2007/04/23 05:58 thank you for the website and i just bought a digital camera so ill try to post some pics. ive just had fun having the fry and my kids love to watch them grow. it was an accidental breeding in a comunity tank and the babies are almost a year old and now have fry of their own. i have 5 tanks set up so far and im getting a 120 gallon this week.
