eggs gone bad? - 2008/05/02 15:18 My 3" female green terror recently laid approximately 80 to 100 eggs. Over the course of 2-3 days they changed from a clear faint yellow color to covered in what appears to be a white fungus. She is still protecting the eggs even though they are lost. There are other fish in the tank including a small 1" GT and the 3" male she most likely spawned with. Would it be best to remove the bad eggs so she will move on, maybe to mate again? What actions can I take to minimize the possibility of this happening again.

This is my first post, but I can say this site has been very helpful in getting my tank this far.

Re:eggs gone bad? - 2008/05/08 10:46 I would just leave them, she will dispose of the rotten eggs herself. I guess you can't really ensure that it won't happen again - the only way would be to know for certain that there's a mature male cichlid than can fertilize the eggs.
