identifying - 2008/02/04 19:28 I have attached two pictures of the three African Cichlids that I have. I bought them from the same tank at an aquarium store and they were listed as 'Assorted African Cichlids'. I have tried to go through many posts and pictures of African cichlids, but have yet to be able to identify their species. I apologize ahead of time for the quality of the pictures, I have a difficult time taking pictures of them in the tank. I will describe them to you as well.

I have a very bright yellow one with black vertical stripes that fade from pitch black to light grey, which I have previously posted about.

One of the other fish is a bright orange color with a couple of orange spots on his 'bottom' fin. It took me a while to notice but he is also covered in blue iridescent spots all over his orange body and 'clear colored' fins.

Last, but not least... I have a larger one that is grey/silver with dark grey spots, as well as orange spots. He/she has two blueish/purple iridescent stripes across his face.

If you have any other questions about their looks, please let me know. And thanks in advance for any help.

Re:identifying - 2008/02/07 10:15 I'm not quite sure what the yellowish one is, can't see it well enough. But it looks like the orange one is a "red x red" zebra, and the splotchy one is a cobalt zebra by the looks of things.

Re:identifying - 2008/02/08 18:49 I believe the yello one with stripes going up and down is a bumblebee. I have one but mine has really dark dark stripes and fins. I can't tell what the other one was.
