strange behavior??? - 2008/03/25 02:38 I reciently aquired my fathers african cichlids, one of them is definately the donimant one, it is what I think to be a zebra striped fish. I have had them about 1 and1/2 weeks at my new house, the "zebra fish" started a couple days ago digging holes in the gravel and pushing tank decorations over it, it also seems to be very defensive of that territory. I was wondering if someone with more knowledge could tell me if this fish is a female and how they breed and which other fish it would breed with, and what I should do if this is a "nesting" type of behavior. the under belly is mostly yellow and the under-fins are bark brown, like it's strips.
Thank You to who ever wants to help me.

Re:strange behavior??? - 2008/03/27 07:20 Hi does this fish look like a bumblebee? LOL I know its a funny name but if its yellow with dark brawn stripes going up and then then it is. I have one that does the same thing. It will pick up the gravel and then throws it out like digging a hole. These fish are very territorial. Mine chases the other fish all the time and is very aggresive. I don't know how to sex them sorry but if you know let me know too. I've been wanting to buy another one but I haven't been able to find a large one. If I buy a little one it'll be dead in hours lol. This is a pic of mine.

sorry lets see if this works
