Re:big mouth? - 2008/02/20 19:34 Nice pic
You should be fine cleaning the tank as long as you stay away from her, or she stays away from you

Re:big mouth? - 2008/02/21 08:46 Hi, I have 2 breeding pairs of fish and their fry have been the same size, yet the fish are very different in all ways. It depends on the size of the fish as to how quickly they grow and what you feed them when they are free swimming. Hope this helps....

Re:big mouth? - 2008/02/21 18:17 ok thank you. Another question sorry but would the dad fish harm the babies because I have them seperated right now with a tank divider and the dad fish keeps looking for the mom and they swim up and down together. Its so cute. I think they miss each other. Should I put the dad fish with the mom or is that a bad idea? Sorry this is the first time and I want to do it right you know... I've been seeing the babies in her mouth and they are ready to come out they look big. She will know right, when she gets tired of them wiggling in her mouth. I could see their eyes through the side of her mouth by her gills!! So excited.

Re:big mouth? - 2008/02/21 20:04 My jewels both look after the fry.and defend them. I would leave them seperated but someone else might think differently. My geos are mouth brooders but she cant stop eating or spitting her fry out because she wants to eat Jewels dont hold their fry in the mouth.

Re:big mouth? - 2008/02/28 06:57 So ok my momma fish had finally released the babies but she keeps putting some back in her mouth!!! Thats kinda the pro cuz I'm trying to feed the babies. I'm feeding them, or at least trying to, flakes with a straw because I don't have any tubing. What else can I feed the babies to keep them healthy? The grl at the pet store suggested some mixed food blocks that I can drop by where the babies are. Do you guys think that is a good idea? And another thing would it be ok to cleane the half of the tank where the other fish are at? I'm too scared to do the side where the babies are at. They are so little I also don't want to stress out the momma fish. She already stress when I put the flakes in there
