Did research and like many reasons: the varying colors, sizes, types-the fact they are hardy fish and fairly easy to maintain if you do it right. Fun to watch now that I have my own! Seem to always be doing things, whether chasing each other, playing, or just going around gravel bed and digging up food-rocks-shells.
