tank temp - 2008/02/20 07:39
Hey guy's... One of my tanks is running at about 84F ... Little warmer ... The heater is turned down to 76F for the last few days .. The on light is not showing on the tank heater , indicating that it's not needed ..
The room temp varies from low 70 to higher depending on open windows and a little heater I have, that can make the room quite warm if I want....
Three temp gages are showing about the same temp, a digital, a stick on, and a floating thermometer ... I checked the filter to see if the filter motor may be generating more heat and its running cool ...
What do you all think is keeping the tank temp so high... I would like to see it drop to 80/81F ...
iI was wondering if at one time it (heater) was up to high and the coral absorbed heat and is helping maintain that temp , or if the aquarium cover is keeping in heat , I add water on a regular bases because of evaporation ... And I don't make it that hot , though I could check the actual temp of it when I add next time.. Also I keep a gallon all ready and it sits by the tanks so it's easy to add when I see it needs it...
What say you aquarium owners of the world ..... ?
