Geo female keeps spitting her fry - 2008/02/15 16:02 I have a pair of geophagus brachybranchus and the female holds for 2 days max, then when i feed the other fish she spits the lot. She has done this 5 times now. She is about10cm and a bit over a year old. Will practice make perfect or will she always do this. I suppose she must really like her dinner
Any ideas would be much appreciated

Re:Geo female keeps spitting her fry - 2008/02/15 16:05 Morning sickness ..... My fish just isn't eating ... When I saw the eggs ad she spit some out..I think she was just rearranging them . But your fish just spits them out and doesn't pick them back up ...

Could be a teenage mum too.....

I would think if they is old enough to breed then nature should be directing them as what is the proper way to do things ... Kinda weird that they would just spit out the eggs but not retrieve them ...
