Am I Overstocked? 135 gallon - 2007/09/13 18:55
I have a well established 135 gallon aquarium...its been up and running about 6 weeks....The residents are: 3 small kribensis, 1 weird Jack Dempsey(odd markings, possible JD+Green Terror?), 1 7" black oscar( hes thand e policeman of the tank), 1 3.5" Jaguar, 1 3.5" 5 star general (him and jag are mortal enemies), 1 4" sun cat, 1 12" royal pleco, 1 4" leopard sail pleco, 1 5" vheia/black belt hybrid, 1 3" fenestratus, 1 2" buffaloHead, 1 5" sensibilum,a 6" bichir, and 1 very shy 4" red lobster.....what do the rest of you think? overstock? maybe, maybe not, they all get along fairly well and ive had no fatalities and no disease cycles....i feed them a wide spectrum of live food and pellets...everyone has told me that having SA, CA and African cichlids would be a bust, but there have been no real problems so far...lots 65territories, plants, sand...water change 2x per month....temp ranges from 65F-72F (no heater, oscar broke it)...have no idea about PH or nitrate levels lol so either im a genius or im on the road to cichlid self destruction...gimme an opinion....and also i am looking (in AK or somewhere near) black or white "calvus"....and other rare africans, and a DOVII really want to keep one of those....have pics later....i have also a 55 gal with 2 dempseys (2" male, 4" female) a 2" firemouth, 5" green terror, and a 5" spotted sail pleco....they are spectacular, very well kept fish.....
